Bassel Kakish, chief executive officer of Publicis Groupe Middle East and Turkey, said Dewhurst spent close to a decade within the Publicis Groupe ecosystem in global roles, adding that the company looks forward to bringing that experience to the region.
He noted that her understanding of the business, its clients and the industry would matter as the Groupe continues transforming how it operates across the Middle East, and said the company was pleased to welcome her back to accelerate its marketing and communications ambitions for its next growth phase.
Dewhurst is no stranger to Publicis Groupe, having spent nearly ten years there in senior international positions, with her latest posting as Head of International Communications and PR spanning EMEA and APAC for the Groupe.
In that role, she oversaw international corporate communications, media relations, executive profiles for agency and clients, and crisis and reputation management.
Dewhurst joins from MCN, where she served as chief communications officer since 2024, launching and leading the marketing and communications function while driving partnerships and value added opportunities for clients.
Dewhurst said it marks an exciting time at Publicis Groupe Middle East given its clear vision to drive transformational growth for clients and talent.
Dewhurst said she was happy to return, noting the region is one she has admired for years and now calls home, and that she looks forward to working with Kakish and the team.
Dewhurst remains active in the wider industry as a mentor with The Marketing Society, a member of the Advertising Business Group, and a regular awards juror and guest lecturer. In her new role, she will report directly to Kakish.
