Background

Paperworld Middle East has announced a new partnership with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) to promote responsible sourcing across the region’s paper and stationery industry.

Hosted at Dubai World Trade Centre, the 15th edition of the trade show will bring FSC’s globally recognised sustainable forestry expertise to the industry.

Paperworld Middle East uses the partnership to deepen its sustainable sourcing focus and back long-term growth across the Middle East paper and stationery sector.

FSC advances environmentally sound, socially responsible and economically viable forest management through its internationally recognised certification system, and the partnership extends this expertise to the region’s premier trade platform for paper and stationery products.

Organisers say the alliance reflects rising demand from businesses and public institutions for globally recognised sustainability standards, as they work to strengthen procurement practices, boost supply chain transparency and meet environmental targets. FSC’s model further supports companies looking to embed responsible sourcing into their everyday operations and decision-making.

Mark Palmer, Show Director of Paperworld Middle East, said sustainability had shifted from an aspiration to an expectation among exhibitors and buyers, with businesses increasingly seeking transparency and confidence that sourced products meet international standards.

He added that the FSC partnership would help businesses source with greater assurance while speeding up the adoption of responsible forestry practices regionally.

The 2026 edition will feature FSC-certified exhibitors including IPM, Main Paper and The Navigator Company, giving visitors access to responsibly sourced products from across the globe.

Helen Chepkemoi Too, Senior Director of Markets at FSC, said the partnership would help raise awareness of responsibly sourced materials across the paper, stationery, gifting and promotional products sectors, supporting long-term change in sourcing behaviour and industry standards.

Paperworld Middle East continues to serve as a key marketplace for manufacturers, suppliers and buyers, with global paper and stationery markets projected to reach US$294 billion and US$268 billion respectively by 2034, according to Fortune Business Insights.
