Background-

Robbyant, the embodied AI company within Ant Group, and the Arab Federation for Digital Economy (AFDE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to speed up the deployment, localization and commercialization of embodied AI and robotic solutions in the UAE, the wider GCC and other Middle East markets.

Dr. Ayman Ghoneim, Assistant Secretary-General of AFDE, and Yu Liang, Head of Commercialization at Robbyant, signed the agreement. It sets up a structured way to advance embodied AI adoption across the region through five pillars, covering regional rollout and commercialization, pilot projects across industries, Arabic and regional localization, data and model collaboration, and ecosystem building.

Joint pilots will cover hospitality, retail, real estate, logistics, industrial operations, smart cities, healthcare and entertainment. Teams will adapt robots for Arabic-language interaction, local workflows and cultural needs.

Any data and training collaboration will follow applicable laws, customer authorization and separate definitive agreements. The partnership invites public and private sector stakeholders to help build a regional ecosystem.

AFDE chose Robbyant for its full-stack embodied AI capabilities, including the LingBot 2.0 model suite that powers robotic perception, world simulation and action.

Its LingBot-VLA 2.0 foundation model supports pre-training for 20 robotic embodiments across 17 hardware brands. The company also plans to launch a cloud-based toolchain platform for model development, evaluation and deployment.

Robbyant’s solutions run in pharmacies, logistics facilities and industrial machine tending. Its Smart Pharmacy robotics system with Guo Da Drugstore has lifted efficiency during peak hours and overnight shifts.
