Huawei Appoints Corey Deng to Lead Regional Cybersecurity Strategy

Background- 

Huawei appointed Corey Deng as Chief Cybersecurity and Privacy Officer for the Middle East and Central Asia region.

In his new role, Deng will lead Huawei’s regional cybersecurity and privacy strategy, covering areas such as data protection, AI security and privacy compliance. He will also work with customers, business partners and regulators to strengthen cybersecurity frameworks and support the region’s growing digital economy.

The appointment reflects Huawei’s continued investment in secure digital infrastructure as technology adoption expands across the Middle East and Central Asia. The company said cybersecurity and privacy remain important for building resilient and trusted digital systems.

Deng brings more than 18 years of experience at Huawei and has held several international leadership positions within the company. Before this appointment, he served as Chief Cybersecurity and Privacy Officer at Huawei’s Digital Power Business Unit headquarters. He also worked in cybersecurity and solutions sales roles in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, along with earlier positions in research and development.

Huawei officials said Deng’s experience would help strengthen support for regional clients and partners as demand for secure digital services continues to grow. Deng also stated that cybersecurity and privacy must remain central as digital transformation accelerates across industries.

The company added that it will continue integrating cybersecurity and privacy measures into its products, solutions and internal governance systems. The appointment comes as businesses and governments across the region increase focus on digital security, AI infrastructure and advanced technology protection.
