Background-
Business France has appointed Jean-Philippe Arvert as Regional Director for the Near and Middle East and French Trade and Investment Commissioner to the United Arab Emirates, opening a new chapter in its push to expand French business ties across the Gulf.
The appointment comes as the region moves through a major phase of economic transformation, with large scale investment flowing into artificial intelligence, energy, advanced industry, infrastructure and healthcare.
Business France said French firms bring industrial expertise and technology that align with these priorities, while regional investors are increasingly active in France’s strategic sectors.
Arvert brings more than three decades of international trade experience to the role. He has held senior leadership positions with Business France in Indonesia, Vietnam and Germany, building expertise in export promotion and economic diplomacy.
Arvert said the region was entering a remarkable period of transformation, pointing to the scale of investment underway and the pace at which ambitions were turning into projects. He said his ambition was to build more bridges and long term partnerships in both directions, with Business France staying close to companies and decision makers.
Under his leadership, Business France will focus on helping French companies expand across high growth regional markets and attracting greater investment into France.
The agency employs more than 1,400 people across 53 countries and recently helped generate 2.5 billion euros in export revenue for French small and mid-size companies, supporting more than 25,000 jobs.
