Background-

Online travel marketplace Wego has widened its partnership with payments firm Juspay as it grows its footprint across the Middle East. The expanded deal will help Wego add local payment methods faster and improve payment success rates for travellers booking flights and hotels.

Wego operates across the Middle East and North Africa, letting users search and book from hundreds of airlines and hotel chains. Payment habits vary widely across these markets, from cards to mobile wallets to local payment systems. Juspay’s orchestration platform connects Wego to banks, acquirers, and payment providers through one system, so Wego can offer the payment options travellers in each country actually prefer.

The company says the partnership has already boosted payment approval rates. Juspay’s system routes transactions intelligently, optimises security checks, and retries failed payments automatically, while giving Wego a single view to spot and fix payment issues quickly.

Alexandre Morin, Wego’s Director of Payments, Risk and Fintech, said the partnership lets the company offer more locally relevant payment options while keeping the booking process simple.

Nakul Kothari, Juspay’s Head of APAC and Middle East, said the partnership will help Wego adapt to different payment systems as it grows. Both companies plan to keep building new payment solutions together as Wego expands further.
