Dubai Airports has unveiled three senior leadership appointments aimed at building up its technology, operational and national talent capabilities as the airport gears up for its next stage of growth across Dubai International and Dubai World Central Al Maktoum International.
Kan Ni moves up from Vice President, Airport Operations Control Centre, to Senior Vice President, Airport Operations, in an internal promotion. Khalid Ishaq steps up from Head of AOCC Integration to Vice President, AOCC. Joining the team from outside is Ahmad Al Bastaki, who takes on the role of Vice President, Technology Operations and Cybersecurity within Business Technology.
Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Airports, said delivering safely and at scale comes down to the strength of the airport’s people, its systems and how well teams work together.
He said the new appointments bring together specialist technology know-how, solid operational background and strong Emirati talent in areas that matter increasingly for airport performance and resilience.
The promotions of Kan Ni and Khalid Ishaq add depth to AOCC, the operational hub that manages the daily flow of roughly 200,000 guests through Dubai International in real time.
Kan Ni played a key role in turning AOCC into a hub for coordinated, data-driven decisions, guiding his teams through a stretch of regional airspace constraints to keep things running smoothly.
Khalid Ishaq, with the airport since 2005, carries two decades of hands-on experience across its operational systems. His new role also reflects the airport’s ongoing effort to grow national talent, with Emiratis holding 75 percent of management positions, in line with national goals like Nafis and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.
Ahmad Al Bastaki steps into oversight of cybersecurity, service management and infrastructure operations, bringing added technology leadership as airports increasingly operate like tech-driven enterprises.
