Background
SAMI Aerospace, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabian Military Industries, has signed several major commercial agreements with regional and international companies to expand its aviation capabilities. The companies announced the deals during the Dubai Airshow 2025, in the presence of Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej, the President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, along with SAMI CEO Thamer Al-Muhid and SAMI Aerospace CEO Sami Al-Najem.
The first agreement, signed with SkyFive Arabia, covers the installation and testing of advanced air-to-ground communication systems on FlyNas aircraft. The program includes full installation, wiring, and ground testing for the airline’s existing fleet and for 120 aircraft on order for other carriers. This partnership marks the region’s first integration of in-flight air-to-ground systems, making SAMI Aerospace the exclusive partner for modifications and testing.
The second deal is with Jazeera Airways and focuses on developing heavy maintenance capabilities for the airline’s fleet. Under the cooperation, SAMI Aerospace will implement advanced maintenance programs at its facilities inside the Kingdom, expanding its maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services and strengthening regional aviation support.
SAMI Aerospace signed an MoU with Alpha Star Aviation to improve MRO services for private aircraft. The agreement aims to boost technical expertise, attract new operators, and provide specialized support for private aviation clients.
SAMI Aerospace signed another MoU with ARTS Group to support maintenance, supply chain operations, and technical consultancy for different types of aircraft. The cooperation will set the stage for broader aviation solutions and better operational efficiency.
These agreements make SAMI Aerospace a leading provider of MRO and aviation services in the region. They also help Saudi Arabia grow its aviation industry, share technology, and train local talent to support Vision 2030.
