King Salman Appoints Dr. Majid Al-Fayyad as Royal Court Advisor

In yet another landmark step towards fulfillment of Saudi Arabia’s vision for reformation of the healthcare sector, King Salman directed the royal decree to be promulgated where Dr. Majid Al-Fayyad was appointed as an advisor to the Royal Court. This is viewed to represent the Kingdom’s endeavors in guiding the country’s best medical and administrative brains to leadership roles.

Dr. Al-Fayyad is also very well known due to his superior hospital administration and clinical medicine background. He received his doctor of medicine degree in 1990 from King Saud University and also underwent training in the United States. He completed pediatrics residency from Tufts University and subspecialized in pediatric cardiology from Columbia University. In addition to his superior leadership background, he also holds a master’s degree in medical administration from the University of Southern California in 2015.

Dr. Al-Fayyad is the executive general supervisor of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre Riyadh, Jeddah, and Madinah since 2017. During his tenure, the company has attained unprecedented milestones in specialist medical care, research medicine, and patient care innovation. His vision allowed the hospital to convert its strategic vision into Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 targets—i.e., maximum access to high-quality health and local medical potential.

Dr. Al-Fayyad’s selection to the Royal Court is a reflection of the increasing demand for bridging health care competence with policy formation in the executive sphere. His experience in the workplace gives him an excellent mix of scientific ability, global exposure, and strategic thinking. He will be eminently capable of advising on health care development, public health policy, and institutional development in his new role.
